REPRESENTING ORANGE COUNTY BUSINESS
"My experience as general counsel and president of a $100 Million Dollar company is invaluable when it comes to representing my business clients."
I am an experienced corporate, trial and litigation attorney. I spent the first ten years of my legal practice litigating cases in California state and federal courts. In 1998 I was named as outside general counsel of a fast growing corporate client. In 1999 I was asked to join the company as in-house general counsel and later appointment as President in addition to Chief Legal Officer. I am a no-nonsense, practical attorney and litigator. I handle a wide array of cases including litigation, intellectual property, trade secret misappropriation claims and other high stakes corporate and commercial litigation.
My unique real life business experience and legal expertise contributes to my ability to effectively assist corporate clients not only with strategy in litigation, but to provide an effective go forward plan to protect the integrity of their brands.
I graduated from California State University Long Beach with a degree in computer science and engineering. I received a Juris Doctorate from UWLA in Los Angeles. I am an active, practicing member in state and federal courts.
I handle a variety of cases but most of my practice is geared towards assisting and advising small to medium businesses with litigation, contract related issues including drafting, negotiation, enforcement or defense; employment; real estate and intellectual property.
Hiring a lawyer should not be a scary endeavor, nor the attorney-client relationship tumultuous. The attorney and client must be members of the same "team". That doesn't mean that they always agree, but at the end of every discussion, there has to be alignment on strategy.
The single most complaint clients have of their attorney is lack of communication. Often clients are left in the dark on the progress of their case. I've been there as a client myself and completely understand the frustration of not being informed. That is why all my clients have my cell phone number and there is never a fee for case updates.
Another client concern is fees. As an executive at times I hired outside counsel to handle certain cases. One of the most painful tasks I had was opening monthly bills from our outside counsel. I know what it feels to receive jaw dropping bills! That is why I have a no surprise guarantee - if there are any actions that need to be taken on your case that require extensive work, we will first discuss the action before you incur any fees.
I've been on both sides of the attorney-client relationship and understand what I need to do to be a zealous but practical advocate for my clients.
